Solution-Focused Coaching

You want something to change, but thinking it through keeps bringing you back to the same place. Perhaps you are facing a decision, considering a career change, or struggling to follow through. Solution-focused coaching gives you space to clarify what matters and choose a workable next step.

What is solution-focused coaching?

Solution-focused coaching is a collaborative conversation about what you want to be different and how to move toward it. We look at your strengths, what has helped before, and the small signs that things are already working, even a little.

You do not need to understand every cause of a problem before taking a useful step. We can acknowledge what has been difficult while exploring what you would like to happen next.

When you feel stuck between knowing and doing

You may keep weighing the same options, wait until you feel completely ready, or agree to things that leave no room for your own goals. A new role, relationship change, or return to work can also leave you unsure where to begin.

Coaching offers time to put your own priorities into words. You can bring a specific decision or simply a sense that your current direction no longer fits.

Build on what already works for you

Gail listens to what you want from the conversation and helps you describe what progress would look like in everyday life. What would you notice? What would you be doing differently? When has a similar situation felt a little easier?

Together, you identify resources you already have and choose a manageable action. That might be exploring a career option, setting a boundary, preparing for a conversation, or making time for a project. At a later session, you can reflect on what helped and adjust your next step.

Coaching and hypnosis, shaped around you

Coaching focuses on conversation, reflection, and practical action. Hypnosis uses guided relaxation and focused attention to work with familiar responses and mentally rehearse different ones. Gail can discuss how either approach, or a combination, fits your goals and preferences.

You can ask about coaching without hypnosis. Any use of hypnosis is discussed with you, and you remain involved in choosing the approach. Coaching does not replace mental-health treatment, medical care, or specialist career or financial advice. Progress varies, and outcomes are not guaranteed.

Begin with what matters to you

Frequently asked questions

Questions are welcome here.

Do I need a clear goal before we meet?

No. You can begin with a decision, a difficulty, or a sense that something needs to change. Part of the conversation can be clarifying what you want.

Can I choose coaching without hypnosis?

Yes. You can discuss coaching on its own during your mini-session. Gail will talk through your preferences before agreeing on an approach with you.

Can coaching help with a career transition?

Coaching can support you in clarifying priorities, recognizing strengths, and taking steps toward exploring a change. It does not provide recruitment, job placement, or specialist employment advice.

How many sessions will I need?

That depends on your goals and what you find useful. You can discuss this with Gail and review your progress together. There is no fixed number that suits everyone.
