Hypnosis for Singing Performance

Your voice feels familiar in practice. Then someone is listening, and you start monitoring every note. Worry about being judged can pull you away from the music you love. Online hypnosis and coaching offer space to work on the pressure surrounding your performance.

What is singing performance anxiety?

Singing performance anxiety is worry or tension connected with singing for others. It may show up before an audition, during a solo, or even in a rehearsal where you feel exposed. You might notice a racing heart, tightness, or thoughts about making a mistake.

It can feel especially personal because your voice is part of you. Understanding that pressure is a starting point. Next, we look at what it is keeping you from enjoying or trying.

When worry gets louder than the music

You may turn down a solo, delay recording a song, or spend the days before a performance imagining criticism. During a piece, one missed note can become the only thing you hear. Afterward, you replay it instead of noticing the moments that felt good.

Perhaps you are comfortable singing with a group but struggle alone. Or you enjoy performing until an audition makes every phrase feel like a test. Your support begins with those particular moments, rather than an expectation that you should simply be more confident.

Make room for your own voice

Gail listens to what happens before, during, and after you sing. Together, you identify the thoughts and reactions you want to approach differently, such as anticipating judgment or struggling to move on after an imperfect note.

Guided hypnosis uses focused attention and relaxation to mentally rehearse a different response. Coaching connects that practice with a manageable next step, such as recording a short passage or preparing a routine before an audition. You remain involved and can pause or stop at any time.

Prepare for the moment that matters

Your goal might be to attend an audition you have been avoiding, enjoy a choir solo, or feel more present while sharing a song. Sessions can explore how you want to prepare, where you want your attention to go, and how to return to the next phrase after a distraction.

This work supports the mental side of singing. It does not replace vocal training or assessment of voice problems. Progress varies, and there is no promise of a particular performance or audition result.

Frequently asked questions

Questions are welcome here.

Do I need to be an experienced singer?

No. You can discuss support whether you sing for enjoyment, perform with a group, or audition professionally. The work follows your experience and goals.

Will this teach me singing technique?

No. Hypnosis and coaching focus on confidence, attention, and responses to pressure. A singing teacher is the right person for vocal technique.

Can we work toward an upcoming audition?

Yes, you can discuss its timing and what feels hardest. Support can focus on your preparation and response to pressure, but cannot guarantee selection or remove all nerves.

How do online sessions work?

You meet Gail privately on Zoom with a reliable connection and a device with a camera and microphone. Choose a quiet place where you can talk comfortably and remain undisturbed.
